Many of us are looking for fulfillment from our careers, and a raison d’etre that we can be proud off. Crushed by Naivety

I look at them, and they are small. From where I stand, they appear wandering in random, aimlessly. They are many, but they are also one. A uniform crowd. Homogeneous describes them nicely. Some of them talk a lot, but they don’t say much. The rest don’t say much, because they don’t talk to begin with. If they do, then it is with short phrases. They speak like politicians, using safe filler. One could describe their opinions as ‘democratic’, in the negative sense of the word.

I look again, and they are still small. They are players part of something larger, but not clearly grander. To it they conform agreeably, contrary to what they might like to think or say. Those overseeing smile delightfully. I too am part of the mass. I choose to acknowledge it though, rather than speak out hypocritically. But people don’t like that. It’s too similar to what they’re used to. It’s unanimated and dull. Unanimated and dull. Funny, that reminds me.
